According to Sassa, if an application remains pending, it means that the application has not yet been fully verified, according to a statement released on Tuesday. Checking citizenship with the Department of Home Affairs and verifying UIF registration with the Department of Employment and Labour are both part of the verification process.Besides verifying banking details, Sassa stressed that the agency conducts thorough checks to ensure that all requirements are met before approval is granted. As soon as all verification processes are complete, applicants’ application status will be updated to “approved.”
