According to the bursary scheme, students will receive their allowances directly from the scheme, depending on the institution where they are enrolled.Your Nsfas money will appear on your bank account if you are pursuing your studies through the University of South Africa.

Nsfas Wallet is used by Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college students.

Things needed to receive allowances via the Nsfas Wallet

  • Your own cell phone and valid SIM card
  • You must sign your NSFAS Bursary Agreement if you are a new student to NSFAS
  • You will not need to withdraw cash to pay your landlord or any registered merchant.

Bursaries cover tuition fees, student housing, transportation, personal care allowances, living allowances, and book allowances.

Additionally, students should have access to the cell phone number used to apply for NSFAS, since it will be used by the scheme to deposit funds and communicate further about the bursary.
