When Do 2023 NSFAS Appeals Close

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme will provide bursaries to more than 900,000 deserving students in 2023. Many students, however, did not receive funding despite applying for it.As part of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), NSFAS received over 1.6 million funding applications in 2023. A number of students who submitted applications for funding were unsuccessful, despite NSFAS expecting to fund up to one million students.

When Do 2023 NSFAS Appeals Close?

It was determined that 941,491 bursary applicants would receive funding in 2023 based on their bursary applications. A total of 317,335 bursary applications were not accepted according to NSFAS.

In its statement about unsuccessful applicants, NSFAS said they did not meet their funding requirements. In the event students disagree with the decision of NSFAS, they may submit an appeal application.

Now that myNsfas appeals are live, you can submit your appeals. By using this feature, rejected applicants who have not received financial aid for the academic year 2023 will be able to appeal their denials and possibly receive a grant.

“MyNsfas now has a NSFAS appeal feature. MyNSFAS allows applicants with unsuccessful application status to submit an appeal application by logging into their account and submitting the appropriate information and documents.”Applicants who have been unsuccessful must appeal within 30 days of noticing that they have been unsuccessful.

In its financial aid scheme, students are reminded that emails will not be considered for appeals. The supporting documents needed for appeals can be viewed on the NSFAS website.

In the event that their appeals are successful, Nsfas will provide comprehensive funding to the students. This includes tuition and housing fees that are fully paid. Additional costs related to student studies will also be covered through several allowances.
